Witnesses: Van Hits Pedestrians on London Bridge

   British police say they are dealing with an incident at London Bridge
   and are urging people to avoid the area.

   Witnesses say a white van veered off the road and hit several
   pedestrians before driving off into south London. Witness said they saw
   about five to eight people who had fallen to the road.

   One witness told Reuters she saw people who might have had knife
   injuries. Authorities have not yet confirmed any details.

   The bridge and nearby underground station are currently closed. Armed
   police and several emergency vehicles are in the area and details are
   still coming in.
