2 US Trainers Killed in Exchange of Gun Fire at Jordan Air Base

   Two U.S. military trainers were shot dead by Jordanian security forces
   in an exchange of gun fire at an air base Friday, the Jordanian army
   said.

   The trainers were in a car that failed to stop at the gate of the base.
   A third American and a Jordanian officer were wounded in the gun fire
   at the Al-Jafr air force base in Southern Jordan.

   Jordan is a close ally of the United States.
