Pakistan Train Crash Kills at Least 11 by VOA News Two trains collided early Thursday in the Pakistani port city of Karachi. An official at Karachi's Jinnah Hospital said 11 people were confirmed dead and as many as 50 injured had been brought to the hospital. News broadcasts showed rescuers cutting through wreckage as they tried to reach passengers trapped in train cars. Reuters reports that an official in Karachi said up to 1,000 passengers may have been on board the trains when the accident occurred. According to local media, all train travel to and from Karachi has been suspended. In September at least four people died and nearly 100 others were injured when a freight train collided with a passenger train near Multan.
