Judge Orders Release of Report on Zuma Corruption Allegations by VOA News A South African judge has ordered the immediate release of a state report on corruption allegations against President Jacob Zuma. The order Wednesday came after Zuma dropped a legal bid to block release of the report, compiled by the public protector, South Africa's top anti-corruption official. The report centers on accusations that Zuma allowed the wealthy Gupta family to have undue influence in his administration. The president allegedly let the family choose some cabinet ministers. The report was originally due to be released last month before Zuma blocked it. Zuma has already faced fierce criticism for using about $20 million in public funds to upgrade his private rural home. He later apologized and agreed to repay a fraction of the money. Thousands of South Africans protested Wednesday in the capital, Pretoria, demanding that Zuma resign.
