                US Democratic National Committee Network Hacked

   The U.S. Democratic National Committee (DNC) said Tuesday its computer
   network was breached by Russian government hackers who gained access to
   opposition information on presumptive Republican presidential nominee
   Donald Trump.

   DNC chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz described the incident as
   "serious" and said the committee moved quickly to "kick out the
   intruders and secure our network" with the help of a cyber company
   called CrowdStrike.

   The hacking incident, first reported by The Washington Post, does not
   appear to have yielded financial or personal information, said the DNC.
   The paper, citing committee officials and security expects, said the
   hackers had access to all emails and chat exchanges and to the DNC
   network for about a year.

   A Russian embassy spokesman told the newspaper he had no knowledge of
   the breach.
