Two Shot on University Campus in California by VOA News The campus of the University of California, Los Angeles is on lockdown Wednesday after two people were shot in what authorities are calling an "active shooting situation." UCLA media relations officer Rebecca Kendall said Wednesday there are two victims but their conditions are unknown. Authorities say reports of a shooting near an engineering studies building on campus came in around 10 a.m. local time, or 1700 UTC. LAPD Captain Andy Neiman said police tactical teams were on the scene, as well as officials from the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. Neiman said the city of Los Angeles has been put on tactical alert -- a measure that he says is done to redirect police resources to the campus. __________________________________________________________________ [1]http://www.voanews.com/content/two-shot-university-california-campus /3357420.html References 1. http://www.voanews.com/content/two-shot-university-california-campus/3357420.html
