Authorities say the attack took place late Sunday in Idil in Sirnak province near the Syrian border. There has been no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack. Security officials are blaming the assault on the Kurdistan Workers Party, also known as the PKK. Turkish security forces have been cracking down heavily on the PKK across Turkey's predominantly Kurdish southeast. Turkey, the United States and the European Union all consider the PKK to be a terror group. The conflict between Turkey and the PKK has left 40,000 people dead since 1984. __________________________________________________________________ [1]http://www.voanews.com/content/three-turkish-police-killed-in-blast/ 3150793.html References 1. http://www.voanews.com/content/three-turkish-police-killed-in-blast/3150793.html
