Nepal Bus AccidentKills 21 by VOA News Officials in central Nepal say a bus has plunged into a river, killing 21 passengers. Authorities say the accident happened early Friday when the bus fell into the fast-flowing Trishul river, near Chandibhanjyang, about 120 kilometers west of Kathmandu, the capital. Sixteen people survived the crash, officials say. Rescue workers continue to look for other possible victims and survivors. Accidents happen frequently on Nepal's roadways, usually blamed on the country's poorly maintained vehicles and roads.
