Gunfire Reported at American University of Afghanistan in Kabul by VOA News There are reports of gunfire and explosions at the American University of Afghanistan in Kabul, and Afghan security forces have surrounded the school. Eyewitnesses reported that attackers have infiltrated the school where many teachers and students are believed to be trapped inside. Massoud Hossaini, an Afghan Putlizer Prize-winning photographer for the Associated Press, posted a statement on Twitter from inside the school. "Help we are stuck inside AUAF and shooting followed by Explo this maybe my last tweets." Afghan officials say they are sending in security forces to respond to a "complex" attack. Eyewitness told VOA that they have seen Afghan Special Forces rushing towards the scene shortly after the first explosion. There are no details of casualties or claims of responsibility from militant groups. Earlier this month, an American professor and his Australian colleague were kidnapped at the school. No group claimed responsibility for the kidnapping and the professors whereabouts remain unknown.
