First Qatari Soldier Killed in Yemen Conflict by VOA News A Qatari soldier fighting with the Saudi-led coalition in Yemen has been killed, Qatar's first reported casualty in the conflict. Qatar's state-run news agency identified the soldier as Mohammed Hamed Suleiman. It was not immediately clear how he was killed. ''The conflict in Yemen pits Iranian-backed Houthi Shi'ite rebels and allied army units against forces loyal to the internationally recognized government, as well as southern separatists and militants.
