    Black, Latino Students Continue to Fall Behind White, Asian Counterparts

   White and Asian students in the United States continue to out-perform
   their black and Latino and counterparts nationwide, according to the
   latest national assessment of what students know and can do in various
   subject areas. This achievement gap has been plaguing the nation for
   decades and is further complicated by the changing demographics of the
   student population. Elizabeth Lee examines the causes of this gap from
   Los Angeles, one of the most diverse cities in the country.
