                    Modular Robot Getting Closer to Reality

   A robot being developed at Carnegie Mellon University has evolved into
   a multi-legged modular mechanical snake, able to move over rugged
   surfaces and explore the surroundings. Scientists say such machines
   could someday help in search and rescue operations. VOA's George Putic
   reports.
