Sinai Suicide Bomber Kills Civilian, Wounds 24 Police Officers by VOA News A suicide bomber driving a car packed with explosives attacked a police compound in Egypt's Sinai Peninsula early Tuesday, killing a civilian and wounding 24 policemen. Security officials said police shot at the car as it approached and the driver refused to stop in the city of el-Arish. Their gunfire set off the explosives, and the blast killed the civilian who was nearby. There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack. Islamist militants have been blamed for repeated attacks in Sinai, which have increased since then-army chief and current President Abdel Fattah el-Sissi led the 2013 ouster of Islamist President Mohammed Morsi. Egyptian soldiers and police are often the targets of the gun assaults and bombings. On Monday, a roadside bomb killed three soldiers near el-Arish. __________________________________________________________________ [1]http://www.voanews.com/content/sinai-suicide-bomber-kills-civilian-w ounds-24-police/2674141.html References 1. http://www.voanews.com/content/sinai-suicide-bomber-kills-civilian-wounds-24-police/2674141.html
