              1 Killed in Explosion at Italian Consulate in Cairo

   Egyptian authorities said a huge blast outside the Italian consulate in
   Cairo has killed one person and wounded at least four others.

   The consulate was severely damaged, and the area was flooded by
   underground pipes that were ruptured in the explosion.

   Authorities said the blast Saturday morning was likely caused by a car
   bomb, with an explosive device possibly placed under a parked vehicle
   and set off remotely.

   There has been no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack,
   which occurred in the morning when the consulate was still closed.

   Italian Foreign Minister Paolo Gentiloni Tweeted "Italy will not let
   itself be intimidated" by such attacks. He said there were no Italian
   victims.

   Militants have carried out numerous deadly attacks in Egypt since the
   army overthrew Islamist President Mohamed Morsi two years ago. Most
   attacks have targeted security forces and officials.
