           World Readies for New Year's Eve Despite Security Threats

   People around the world are getting ready to welcome the New Year amid
   tight security in some places. Turkey and Belgium say they have foiled
   planned terrorist attacks and the United States says it is boosting
   security amid warnings that an attack is planned on its soil. Zlatica
