           Israel Claims Successful Test of Long-Range Missile Shield

   Israel says it has successfully tested a ballistic missile shield for
   protection from long-range weapons held by Hezbollah, Iran and Syria.
   The Defense Ministry said Thursday that the Arrow 3 system fully passed
   its interception test, hitting a target in space as it would a missile
   coming from a hostile party. Zlatica Hoke reports Israel's military
   success comes at a time of escalating tensions in the region.
