Hurricane Gonzalo Pummels Bermuda by VOA News Forecasters are warning residents of Bermuda to look out for more life-threatening weather as the eye of Hurricane Gonzalo passes over the Atlantic islands. The eye is usually the calm part of the storm in the center. But authorities are cautioning people not to venture out, saying dangerous waves and wind will return. Gonzalo approached Bermuda as a huge Category 4 storm, but weakened to a still powerful Category 2 as it struck the island with top winds of 175 kilometers per hour. The storm is predicted to weaken further as it moves out to sea. No deaths or injuries are reported from Bermuda so far, but Gonzalo killed one person on St. Maarten earlier this week. __________________________________________________________________ [1]http://www.voanews.com/content/hurricane-gonzalo-pummels-bermuda/248 7998.html References 1. http://www.voanews.com/content/hurricane-gonzalo-pummels-bermuda/2487998.html
