                         7 Killed in Pakistan Stampede

   Officials in central Pakistan say a stampede at a political rally has
   killed seven people and injured at least 40.

   Authorities say the people who were killed were trampled in the rush to
   leave the stadium shortly after cricketer-turned-politician Imran Khan
   ended his speech late Friday.

   Khan has led mass demonstrations in the capital, Islamabad, since
   August, demanding Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif step down over alleged
   fraud in the 2013 elections.

   Pro-Khan rallies elsewhere in Pakistan have been largely free of
   incident.
