Chinese Fisherman Killed in Clash with South Korean Coast Guard by VOA News South Korea's coast guard has shot and killed a Chinese fisherman after officials say he resisted arrest while fishing illegally in South Korean waters. Hospital officials say the 45-year-old fisherman died Friday shortly after being airlifted to a hospital in the southwestern South Korean town of Mokpo. It is not clear whether others were wounded in the incident, which occurred in the Yellow Sea that separates the two countries, about 130 kilometers from the South Korean island of Wangdeung. Clashes between Chinese fishermen and the South Korean coast guard are not unusual and have strained relations in the past. China has not responded to the latest incident. Following a similar incident two years ago, Beijing slammed Seoul for what China said was South Korea's "violent law enforcement." __________________________________________________________________ [1]http://www.voanews.com/content/chinese-fisherman-killed-in-clash-wit h-south-korean-coast-guard/2479060.html References 1. http://www.voanews.com/content/chinese-fisherman-killed-in-clash-with-south-korean-coast-guard/2479060.html
