Kyiv, Separatists Blame Each Other for Aid Worker's Death by VOA News Fighting between Ukrainian government troops and separatists continued in Donetsk Friday, after the two sides blamed each other for the shelling that killed a Red Cross worker a day earlier. Ukrainian military spokesman Andriy Lysenko said the battle for control of Donetsk airport, which the rebels are attempting to retake, was ongoing. He also accused the Russian military of deploying drones over the airport to carry out reconnaissance and direct fire. Ukraine's Foreign Ministry Thursday blamed the death of the Swiss Red Cross worker, identified as 38-year-old Laurent DuPasquier, on shelling by "terrorists" -- meaning the separatists. He was killed when a shell landed near the ICRC office in Donetsk. Andrei Purgin, deputy prime minister of the rebels' self-declared Donetsk People's Republic, charged Friday that DuPasquier was killed by a rocket fired by government forces. For its part, Moscow said the area of Donetsk where the Red Cross worker was killed "is under the control of the rebels and the shelling came from positions occupied by Ukrainian forces." __________________________________________________________________ [1]http://www.voanews.com/content/lyiv-separatists-blame-each-other-for -aid-worker-death/2471475.html References 1. http://www.voanews.com/content/lyiv-separatists-blame-each-other-for-aid-worker-death/2471475.html
