OPEC Maintains Output, Prices Drop to New Lows by VOA News The Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) has decided not to cut production, leading to lower prices on trading markets. Meeting Thursday in Vienna, Austria, OPEC oil ministers decided to maintain the present output target of 30 million barrels a day. World oil prices dropped to four-year lows after the news, reaching levels not seen since August of 2010. Both London's Brent North Sea and U.S. crude for January deliveries dropped more than $2 per barrel. Oil prices have plunged 30 percent since June, when a barrel of oil cost as much as 115 dollars. __________________________________________________________________ [1]http://www.voanews.com/content/opec-maintains-output-prices-drop-to- new-lows/2537029.html References 1. http://www.voanews.com/content/opec-maintains-output-prices-drop-to-new-lows/2537029.html
