Afghan MP Survives Suicide Bombing by VOA News A female member of Afghanistan's parliament has survived a suicide bombing that claimed the lives of at least three bystanders and wounded more than 10 others, including the lawmaker. Police say Shukria Barakzai was traveling in a convoy through Kabul Sunday when the bomber detonated explosives. Authorities say Barakzai was slightly wounded in the attack, but is in good condition. The women's rights advocate is a strong supporter of President Ashraf Ghani. The bombing in the Afghan capital was the latest attack on a member of the U.S.-backed Afghan government, which is fighting an insurgency led by the Taliban. __________________________________________________________________ [1]http://www.voanews.com/content/afghan-mp-survives-suicide-bombing/25 22041.html References 1. http://www.voanews.com/content/afghan-mp-survives-suicide-bombing/2522041.html
