Trio of Blasts in Egypt Kills 3 in Ongoing Violence by VOA News A bombing near Egypt's presidential palace in Cairo wounded one passerby early Thursday in the latest of a deadly trio of attacks in and around the capital overnight that killed at least three people and wounded more than a dozen The worst explosion was on a train late Wednesday in Menufia governorate, north of Cairo, that killed two police officers and a civilian. At least 11 others were wounded. State media Al Ahram reported the death toll could climb. A blast at a the Al-Marj metro station in eastern Cairo also wounded three people on Wednesday. Egypt is facing a restive Islamist insurgency and regular bombings around the country since the July 2013 military ouster of elected President Mohamed Morsi.
