                           5 Egyptian Soldiers Killed

   Egyptian state media say gunmen opened fire on a checkpoint Saturday
   near Cairo, killing five soldiers.
   There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack.
   Militants have launched scores of attacks, mainly targeting security
   forces, since the military overthrew Islamist President Mohamed Morsi
   in July.
