                      Mosque Bombed in Zanzibar; One Dead

   Police in the Tanzanian capital of Zanzibar are hunting for suspects
   after the bombing of a mosque that killed one person and injured
   several more.
   Security officials said a homemade bomb went off at a mosque on Friday
   in Zanzibar's Stone Town area. The French news agency identified the
   victim as a Muslim preacher, Sheikh Mohammed Abdalla Mkombalaguha.
   No one has claimed responsibility for the blast. Police say they are
   questioning suspects but have made no arrests.
   This is the latest in a series of suspected sectarian attacks in
   Tanzania's capital, known as a tourist spot for its white sand beaches
   and busy bars and restaurants. In February, two bombs exploded near an
   Anglican cathedral and a nearby restaurant, causing no injuries. Last
   year attackers threw acid in the faces of two British teenagers as they
   strolled through Stone Town.
