                         Militants Attack Kabul Airport

   Afghan officials say militants have exchanged gunfire with Afghan
   troops in an early-morning attack at the Kabul Airport.

   Afghan military officials said the gunmen started firing guns and
   rockets toward the airport from buildings nearby.

   Kabul police say the airport is undamaged. Planes have been diverted to
   other airports.

   NATO has a major operational base at the airport. Reuters reports that
   officials say they are aware of the violence but do not have details.
