Obama: Taking Action to End Sexual Assault U.S. President Barack Obama says his administration is taking steps to fight the crime of sexual violence. In his weekly address Saturday, Mr. Obama said he has created the White House Task Force to Protect Students from Sexual Assault. He said his administration is going to help schools do a better job of preventing and responding to sexual assault on their campuses, noting that one in five women is sexually assaulted at college. Beyond the concern at schools, President Obama says his administration is going to keep working to stop sexual assaults wherever they occur, in part by strengthening the country`s criminal justice system. Mr. Obama says that while government has its job to do, it is up to all Americans to do their part, especially in teaching young men to show women the respect they deserve. In the Republican address, Senator Roy Blunt says Mr. Obama`s economic policies are hurting poor Americans. __________________________________________________________________ [1]http://www.voanews.com/content/obama-taking-action-to-end-sexual-ass ault/1837488.html References 1. http://www.voanews.com/content/obama-taking-action-to-end-sexual-assault/1837488.html
