Burqa Wearing Militants Attack Afghan Police Afghan officials say militants disguised as women have attacked a police compound near Kabul, killing one police officer and wounding at least three other officers. Authorities say a suicide car bomber blew the gates open at police headquarters Friday morning in Sarobi, about 48 kilometers east of Kabul. Police say male attackers dressed in the all-encompassing burqa, traditionally worn by Afghan women, then opened fire and a gun battle ensued inside the compound. Police say all the attackers were killed. The Taliban has claimed responsibility for the attack. Afghan insurgents have increased attacks in recent months, intensifying a campaign to regain territory as foreign forces draw down ahead of a full withdrawal at the end of 2014. The Taliban has also vowed to disrupt the country`s April 5 election to select a successor to President Hamid Karzai. __________________________________________________________________ [1]http://www.voanews.com/content/burqa-wearing-militants-attack-afghan -police/1856191.html References 1. http://www.voanews.com/content/burqa-wearing-militants-attack-afghan-police/1856191.html
