           Pistorius: Consumed 'With Sorrow' Over Girlfriend Shooting

   South African running star Oscar Pistorius says he is consumed with
   sorrow, one year to the day after he shot and killed his girlfriend.
   In a rare statement posted to [1]his website, Pistorius said no words
   can fully capture his feelings about what he called the accident that
   killed Reeva Steenkamp.
   Pistorius - the first double-amputee to compete in the Olympics - is
   due to go on trial for murder March 3.
   Prosecutors say he deliberately killed Steenkamp in his Pretoria home
   after an argument. Pistorius insists he mistook his girlfriend for an
   nighttime intruder.
   The runner's uncle, Arnold Pistorius, said Friday that the family is
   confident the shooting will be shown to be a "terrible and tragic
   accident."
   The 27-year-old Pistorius is known as the "Blade Runner" for his
   carbon-fiber prosthetic legs. He competed in the 2012 London Olympics.
   His case has generated enormous media attention in South Africa and
   elsewhere. A South African news channel is planning to devote 24-hour
   coverage to the trial.
