Egyptian Leftist Running for President Leftist Egyptian politician Hamdeen Sabbahi has announced he will run for president in this year`s election. Sabbahi told his supporters in Cairo Saturday that he will wage a clear battle for the revolution. Sabbahi finished third in the 2012 election that brought Mohamed Morsi to power. Sabbahi became a constant critic of the Islamist Morsi until the army toppled him last year. Sabbahi is likely to face-off in the upcoming election against army chief Abdel Fattah el-Sissi, who has yet to declare his candidacy. Many Egyptian observers believe Field Marshal el-Sissi would enjoy broad support if he runs. __________________________________________________________________ [1]http://www.voanews.com/content/egyptian-leftist-running-for-presiden t/1847456.html References 1. http://www.voanews.com/content/egyptian-leftist-running-for-president/1847456.html
