Australians Protest Shark Culls Thousands of people flocked to beaches in Australia Saturday to protest a controversial policy of culling sharks to cut down on attacks. Officials in Western Australia have begun baiting offshore lines at the state`s most popular beaches. The traps are meant to catch sharks three meters in length or longer for killing. However, animal rights supporters say the lines catch sharks of all sizes as well as dolphins, sea turtles and other marine animals. Marine biologists say there is no evidence that killing sharks reduces the number of attacks. __________________________________________________________________ [1]http://www.voanews.com/content/australians-protest-shark-culls/18423 06.html References 1. http://www.voanews.com/content/australians-protest-shark-culls/1842306.html
