Some Cubans Anxious About Renewed US Diplomatic Relations by VOA News Some Cubans fear the United States opening an embassy and re-establishing diplomatic relations with Havana for the first time since 1961 will make it harder for them to immigrate to the U.S. Analysts say the concern is that the U.S. will end the Cuban Adjustment Act. The law provides Cuban citizens with a virtual guaranteed path to legal residency and eventual U.S citizenship. On Monday, a long line of people formed outside the U.S. Interests Section in Havana, with dozens waiting to apply for U.S. visas. According to the Associated Press and AFP, U.S. officials have no immediate plans to revise the law. __________________________________________________________________ [1]http://www.voanews.com/content/some-cubans-anxious-about-renewed-us- diplomatic-relations/2578512.html References 1. http://www.voanews.com/content/some-cubans-anxious-about-renewed-us-diplomatic-relations/2578512.html
