Football Legend Thierry Henry Retires by VOA News Longtime French football great Thierry Henry has announced his retirement after an illustrious 20-year career. The 37-year-old announced the move Tuesday on his Facebook page, thanking fans for what he called an "incredible journey." Henry won a World Cup and European championship with France and is considered one of modern football's all-time greats. The quick-moving striker scored a team record 51 goals in 123 international matches for the French national team. But he is best known for his career at Arsenal, where he scored a club record 228 goals - 175 of which came in the Premier League. Henry spent three seasons with Barcelona before heading to the U.S., where he ended his career playing for the New York Red Bulls. Henry has long been rumored to be interested in managing.
