Two Blasts Kill 31 in Central Nigerian City by VOA News Two explosions have shaken the central Nigerian city of Jos, killing at least 31 people. The cause of the blasts was not immediately clear. They occurred near the site of a May bombing that took 118 lives and was suspected to be the work of the Boko Haram militant group. Details about Thursday's explosions were still emerging. On Wednesday, suicide bombers killed at least four people at a market in Nigeria's second-largest city, Kano. Police spokesman Magaji Musa Majiya told VOA that two female bombers set off the explosives in the parking lot of the Kantin Kwari market. Nigeria's Daily Trust newspaper reported that at least 12 other people were injured. There was no claim of responsibility, but the radical Islamist Boko Haram group has been blamed for a series of attacks in Kano, including the bombing of the city's central mosque late last month. That attack killed more than 80 people. __________________________________________________________________ [1]http://www.voanews.com/content/two-fatal-blasts-central-nigeria/2555 381.html References 1. http://www.voanews.com/content/two-fatal-blasts-central-nigeria/2555381.html
