               Report: US Gains 321,000 Jobs; Unemployment Steady

   The U.S. economy had a net gain of 321,000 jobs in November, the
   highest monthly number in nearly three years.

   ''Friday's report from the Labor Department also showed the national
   unemployment rate held steady at a six-year low of 5.8 percent.

   White House economic advisor Jason Furman says the economy created an
   average of 241,000 jobs each month this year, a major improvement from
   2009 when the economy was losing  more than 400,000 jobs a month.
