Police Attack Journalists Covering Pakistan Protests by VOA News <p>Pakistani police have begun attacking television crews and other journalists covering clashes between anti-government protesters and police in Islamabad.</p> <p>VOA correspondent Ayaz Gul in Pakistan's capital says several cameramen with Pakistani news organizations have been wounded Sunday and reporters have been severely beaten by police.</p> <p>A minister close to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has condemned the attacks on journalists, as have news organizations across the country.</p> <p>At least three protesters have died and more than 300 people wounded since clashes broke out Saturday when protesters who have been camped outside parliament for two weeks tried to storm the home of the prime minister, using cranes to remove barricades.  Police responded with tear gas and rubber bullets.</p> <p>The protesters, demanding Sharif resign, are led by cricketer-turned-politician Imran Khan and firebrand cleric Tahir-ul-Qadri.  They have alleged massive fraud in the May 2013 election that saw Sharif sweep to power with a huge majority.</p> <p>"I am here. I am with you. I have been here with you the entire night.
