Philippines Recalls UN Peacekeepers From Golan, Liberia by VOA News The Philippines will recall more than 400 troops serving as U.N. peacekeepers in the Golan Heights and Liberia amid concerns about the deteriorating security in the Middle East and the Ebola outbreak in Africa. Department of National Defense officials said Saturday that the 332 Philippine troops in Golan will be sent home after their tour of duty ends in October and about 115 others in Liberia will be "repatriated as soon as possible." Department spokesman Peter Paul Galvez said the Philippines remains committed to peacekeeping missions of the United Nations. __________________________________________________________________ [1]http://www.voanews.com/content/philippines-recalls-un-peacekeepers-f rom-golan-and-liberia/2425782.html References 1. http://www.voanews.com/content/philippines-recalls-un-peacekeepers-from-golan-and-liberia/2425782.html
