US Offers New Rewards for Haqqani Leaders by VOA News The U.S. State Department has offered new rewards for information on four key leaders of the Islamist group militant Haqqani Network, and increased the reward for the group's top leader. The Haqqani Network is a Pakistan-based group allied with al-Qaida and the Taliban. It is considered the most lethal group targeting international forces in Afghanistan and was designated a foreign terrorist organization by the U.S. State Department in 2012. The State Department (( http://www.state.gov/r/pa/prs/ps/2014/230778.htm )) on Wednesday raised the reward for information on the group's leader Sirajuddin Haqqani from $5 million to up to $10 million.
