Iranian Plane Crashes in Tehran by VOA News Iranian aviation officials say a passenger plane has crashed, killing at least 40 people. Authorities say the plane crashed shortly after taking off Sunday, on a road near Tehran's Mehrabab airport. The aircraft, operated by Sepahan Air, was heading to Tabas, a town in eastern Iran.
