                  Famous Pakistani Journalist Shot in Karachi

   Police in Pakistan say gunmen have shot a famous Pakistani television
   anchor, the latest in a wave of attacks on journalists in the country.
   Hamid Mir, a host for the private television channel Geo, was wounded
   in the attack in Karachi Saturday, but is expected to survive.
   The gunmen were in a car and on motorcycles when they reportedly opened
   fire on Mir`s car near the Karachi airport.
   Geo News described the attack as a "targeted-shooting incident."
   Police say Mir suffered three gunshot wounds to the stomach, leg and
   pelvic area.
   Pakistan is one of the world`s most dangerous countries for
   journalists, and this is not the first time Mir has faced attack.
   In 2012, Geo says explosives were found under Mir`s vehicle in
   Islamabad.
