PM Says Talks with Pakistani Taliban Underway Pakistan`s Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif says talks with the Pakistani Taliban have started. Mr. Sharif`s comments came during a meeting with British Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg in London Thursday and were released by Pakistan`s High Commission there. Mr. Sharif said the talks must take place within the constitutional framework of Pakistan but offered no details. The Pakistani Taliban openly criticizes the country`s constitution and demands a much harsher version of Islamic law than allowed in the constitution. Pakistan has been hit by extremist violence in recent years and the Taliban has claimed responsibility for a majority of attacks that have claimed thousands of lives. __________________________________________________________________ [1]http://www.voanews.com/content/pm-says-talks-with-pakistani-taliban- underway/1780738.html References 1. http://www.voanews.com/content/pm-says-talks-with-pakistani-taliban-underway/1780738.html
