Crash on Tibet Rail Line Kills 1, Injures More Than 50 Two Chinese trains have collided on a famous rail line to Tibet, killing one person and injuring more than 50 others. The crash on the Qinghai-Tibet line occurred Wednesday when an empty passenger train ended up on the wrong track and slammed into a train carrying passengers in the East Golmud station. An employee at China Tibet Train, a Chinese travel agency in Chengdu that books passengers for the rail line, told VOA`s Tibetan service there has been no interruption of service to Lhasa, the capital of the Tibetan region. "The accident has nothing to do with the train to Lhasa. It was just a train from Xining to Golmud," he said. The nearly 2,000-kilometer Qinghai-Tibet line is the world`s highest elevation train route. __________________________________________________________________ [1]http://www.voanews.com/content/crash-on-tibet-rail-line-kills-1-inju res-more-than-50/1776494.html References 1. http://www.voanews.com/content/crash-on-tibet-rail-line-kills-1-injures-more-than-50/1776494.html
