Reports: Libyan al-Qaida Suspect Brought to US U.S. media reports say a Libyan terrorism suspect captured in a raid by American special forces in Tripoli is now in New York to face charges. The al-Qaida suspect, known as Abu Anas al-Libi, was snatched in a U.S. operation on October 5 and had been held on an American warship since then. The Associated Press and U.S. television networks said Monday that al-Libi had now been brought to New York, where he has been under federal indictment for more than a decade. He is expected to stand a trial over whether he helped plan and conduct surveillance for the bombings of U.S. embassies in Africa in 1998. Officials said al-Libi, whose full name is Nazih Abdul-Hamed al-Ruqai, could be in court as early as Tuesday. He was on the FBI`s list of most wanted terrorists but his family denies his ties to al-Qaida. __________________________________________________________________ [1]http://www.voanews.com/content/reports-libyan-alqaida-suspect-brough t-to-us/1769551.html References 1. http://www.voanews.com/content/reports-libyan-alqaida-suspect-brought-to-us/1769551.html
