Two Candidates Declare Victory in Honduras Presidential Election Two of the eight presidential candidates in Honduras have declared victory in Sunday`s vote. Xiomara Castro de Zelaya and Juan Orlando Hernandez have both have both claimed victory before the final results have been tallied. Castro is the wife of former president Manuel Zelaya, who was ousted in 2009. Hernandez is the candidate of the governing National Party. Election officials say preliminary results give Hernandez a slight edge. Final results are expected sometime Monday. International observers monitoring the election say the balloting process was conducted without irregularities. Election officials say voter turnout was high.
