Al-Shabab Militants Attack Somali Police Station Militants in central Somalia have attacked a police station, leaving 16 people dead. Witnesses said a car bomb exploded Tuesday outside the entrance to the station in Beletweyne, and then a group of four armed gunmen stormed the building. Officials said all of the attackers as well as several police officers and civilians were killed. The Islamist militant group al-Shabab claimed responsibility, saying it had killed both Somali and Djiboutian nationals. Djibouti is one of the countries that contributes troops to an African Union peacekeeping force in Somalia. Al-Shabab said last month it was behind a bombing at a cafe in the same town that killed at least 15 people. __________________________________________________________________ [1]http://www.voanews.com/content/alshabab-militants-attack-somali-poli ce-station/1792998.html References 1. http://www.voanews.com/content/alshabab-militants-attack-somali-police-station/1792998.html
