Bombs Targeting Shi'ites Kill 38 in Iraq by VOA News Iraqi officials say multiple bomb attacks targeting Shi'ite pilgrims have killed at least 38 people. The largest attack Thursday happened in al-Sadiya, north of Baghdad, where a suicide bomber killed at least 30 people and wounded 65 others. Earlier, two bombs exploded south of the capital, in Hafriyah, killing at least eight people. Both attacks hit groups of Shi'ites observing the annual Ashura ritual, which commemorates the seventh-century killing of Imam Hussein, a grandson of the prophet Muhammad. __________________________________________________________________ [1]http://www.voanews.com/content/bomb-targeting-shiites-kill-38-in-ira q/1790056.html References 1. http://www.voanews.com/content/bomb-targeting-shiites-kill-38-in-iraq/1790056.html
