Rwandan Held in Britain on Genocide Extradition Request by Reuters A man accused of genocide was arrested in Britain on Thursday after an extradition request from Rwanda, London police said. Vincent Bajinya was detained shortly before 6:00 a.m. in the north London district of Islington and was due to appear at Westminster Magistrates Court later on Thursday, a police spokesman said. Four other Rwandans are also believed to have been held on extradition warrants, he added, although no further details on them were immediately available. Bajinya is wanted in connection with the 1994 Rwandan genocide in which 800,000 people were killed in 100 days. He was first arrested in Britain in 2006 but avoided extradition in 2009 when the High Court ruled there was a "real risk" that he would not receive a fair trial. __________________________________________________________________ [1]http://www.voanews.com/content/rwandan-held-in-britain-on-genocide-e xtradition-request/1671479.html References 1. http://www.voanews.com/content/rwandan-held-in-britain-on-genocide-extradition-request/1671479.html
