Indian Actor Gets 5 Years in Prison India`s Supreme Court has sentenced Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt to five years in prison for illegal weapons possession in a case linked to the 1993 Mumbai bombing that killed 257 people. Thursday`s ruling reduced Dutt`s sentence from six years to five years. In the same case, the court commuted the death sentences of 10 others convicted in the case to life imprisonment. But the death sentence for alleged mastermind Yakub Memon was upheld. Dutt was convicted of possessing weapons obtained from men convicted of taking part in the bombings. He has already served more than a year in jail. __________________________________________________________________ [1]http://www.voanews.com/content/indian-actor-gets-5-years-in-prison/1 625715.html References 1. http://www.voanews.com/content/indian-actor-gets-5-years-in-prison/1625715.html
