                          US - Taliban Talks to Begin

   The United States will begin talks with the Afghan Taliban at the
   group`s new office in Qatar.
   A senior U.S. official said the first meeting would take place within
   the next few days.
   The announcement came on Tuesday as the Taliban officially opened its
   office in Doha, saying it wanted to find a political solution to the
   crisis in Afghanistan.
