French Air Traffic Controllers Go On Strike French air traffic controllers have begun a three-day strike Tuesday to protest European Union plans to liberalize the sector and create a single airspace. Strike organizers say plans for a "Single European Sky" will adversely affect their working conditions. Hundreds of French flights have been canceled. Air traffic controller unions in other European countries are expected to take similar action Wednesday. The EU Commission says the plan would improve safety, slash pollution and reduce air traffic management costs. __________________________________________________________________ [1]http://www.voanews.com/content/french-air-traffic-controllers-go-on- strike/1679278.html References 1. http://www.voanews.com/content/french-air-traffic-controllers-go-on-strike/1679278.html
